The cliffs and foothills of the dramatic Klein Drakenstein Mountains, surely one of the loveliest locations in the Western Cape, have attracted visionaries in the new owners of the Ashanti Wine Estate.

It is their passion and purpose to produce fine wines, drawing on the history and romance of wine in combination with Nature's gifts to South Africa of fertile soil and the ideal climatic conditions.

Warm days and cool nights nurture noble cultivars, Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz, Malbec, Pinotage, the list goes on. Whites includes Sauvignon Blanc, Chenin Blanc, Chardonnay and others. The flagship wine, Chiwara, a blend of reds, is shipped throughout the world.

The general manager, Kosie Moller, lends his talent and experience to the making of wines of unsurpassed quality. All these fine wines await your tasting at the tasting room of Ashanti's cellar. The wines are available as accompaniment to the excellent cuisine served for your pleasure at the Ashanti restaurant on the winery premises.

Wine Tasting & Events

PLAN YOUR VISIT

One of the very special features of a visit to Ashanti is your arrival.

The winery was designed with the visitor in mind, incorporating galleries and overlooks that allow guests to view the whole process. The tour concludes with a wine tasting with sit-down table service. The Ahanti staff is known for their gracious hospitality and extensive wine knowledge, and will happily answer any additional questions.

Tasting Rooms

Ashanti's tasting rooms offer a great selection of wines : Pinot Gris, Pinot Gris Rose, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Viognier, Malvasia Bianca, Muscat Canelli, Pinot Noir, Zinfandel, Sangiovese, Syrah, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon.

Visitor Fees ~ Open Daily, Self guided tours between the hours of 10:30-4:30

Week Days -- RXX per person

Weekends and Holidays -- RXX per person

Groups of ten guests or more require a private tour. This is set up in advance, and is booked through our special event department.
